I first played this when I was in high school, and I was so uncomfortable with the detail of death in this game I had turn down the violence slider a notch.ĭamn I wish this game was in Steam. When you shot a guy in a specific position, it was always nice for the game to show you the exact spot where you shot them, often in a groan inducing way. Shoot a guy in the eye, expect half his face not to look human anymore. I remember shooting a guy in the stomach and his death animation had him holding his exposed guts as he collapsed. With SoF2, these guys would have elaborate death animations brutally detailed. Gibbing in these games usually results in a pool of blood with a couple of body parts scattered around, yea that's realistic. Most of these games had enemies die immediately into an unrealistic ragdoll animation. The majority of violent games I've played, when you shoot someone the best thing you'd get is a spray of blood that would disappear into nothing, and sometimes you'd get a lame looking blood decal pasted on where you shot them. I think SoF2 is still the most violent game I've ever played, surpassing bloody games such as FEAR and Fallout 3.
